The western side of Melbourne has always been a breeze for wedding photography. The star of the show is a Chinese/Caucasian couple (absolutely gorgeous!). The story began in Williamstown at the Bride’s house then jumped into a horse and carriage and made our way to the Commonwealth Reserves! It was very lucky of us because the forecast predicted rain all week and if it did we had to move the ceremony indoors where it’ll be all crowded and wet, and worst of all it won’t be outdoors! Location scouting on Saturday through the rain was painful enough, however on the day it was absolutely amazing, lighting was perfect, it drizzled for like 3 seconds during preparation and that’s it! Especially thanks to Michelle Ong for helping out and carrying stuff.
Elvy was incredibly easy to photograph, a constant smile and did not panic at all when it started drizzling. The horse and carriage was loads of fun and at one point the flower girls got to feed them apples! (although one of them panicked and dropped it the first time 😛 ) After the ceremony we went to Ferguson St Piers to take some shots of just the bride and groom. Finally we went to an upstairs bar where the reception took place (with a mind blowing cake too!) Afterwards she changed into a ‘Chi Pao’(so beautiful) and performed a breathtaking yet heartwarming Chinese song ‘I am Willing’. She has such a great voice, you lucky guy Steve! 😉
There is a tea ceremony at the end! Boy it has been long since I last seen one of these, the groom had to read his vows a second time in Chinese for the bride’s parents, how sweet of him :3
