The wedding of Bernadette and Tatenda was a beautiful union of joy, family, and laughter. It is one of those weddings where you show up and you think, ‘Today is going to be awesome”! This also refreshes my personal record of photographing the most kids (all 14 of them) on a wedding day to date! Look on, and experience their story.
The most amazing part is, Bernadette went total DIY bride on her wedding, by this I mean she not only did her own hair and make up, but she went as far as MAKING the Wedding Dress herself! The end result is regally fabulous! One can only imagine the thought and detail put into it.
Sadly, Bernadette’s father was not able to walk her down the aisle, however he brother took the liberty of handing her over, wearing their dad’s Jacket, while she glued a photo of their dad on the bottom of her shoe, he was there with us. He was present. It was amazing.
We later travelled to the venue for some formal/portrait sessions, the beautiful colours and ravishing gardens of Bram Leigh receptions was truly wonderful and perfect for wedding photography, it also happened to win ABIA’s best reception venue of 2013, without a doubt! The family, including the kids, went absolutely nuts, it was one of the most enjoyable sessions I had ever photographed, you had to be there to witness it!
Much of the family travelled to Melbourne from overseas and interstate to make this happen, I could see how grateful and truly happy the couple looked on the day and through their speeches. It was a touching moment.
